Coppell has experience tremendous growth and one of the reasons is location, location, location. The community is conveniently located near DFW Airport, Interstates 635 and 35 and Highways 114, 121 and 161. The 1990 Census listed Coppell as the third fastest growing city in the nation with a population of fewer than 50,000.  The median age in Coppell is 34 years and 39% of the residents are between the ages of 25 and 44.  The Coppell master plan calls for the city to be one-third residential, one-third parks and recreation and one-third light industrial/warehouse.   The area was first settled in the 1840s and incorporated in 1955.  The median income in Coppell is $106,783.  Coppell always ranks near the top in the annual D Magazines Best Suburbs of Dallas.

Approximately 80% of Coppell adults have attended college and 60% are college graduates. Thus, the Coppell Independent School District is also noted for its excellence. Eleven of the twelve school received an Exemplary Rating for the Texas Education Agency, with the twelfth meriting a Recognized Status. Coppell High School boasts one of the highest percentages of students in the state (approximately 92%) taking the SAT or ACT test. Coppell also is noted for its extremely high amount of community involvement, low crime rate, quality of living and family atmosphere. Coppell is conveniently located just minutes from two major malls, Grapevine Mills Mall and Vista Ridge Mall.
